FIRST TIME EVER!

Off-the-Shelf Air Conditioners
Made Standardized for Hot, Corrosive, Dusty Industrial Applications

Brooklyn, New York – July 27, 2004 -- Brooklyn Severe-Duty Equipment Corporation (BSDE) announces the introduction of an extensive line of heavy duty and explosion-proof air conditioners designed to resist corrosion and heat in the world's harsh industrial, marine and military environments. Applications cover a vast range of industries and locations -- from corn, sugar and oil refineries, coal and coke plants, to foundries, crane cabins, and paper pulp mills.

BSDE air conditioners appeal to Maintenance Managers around the globe for their cost-efficiency, ease of installation, and incredible dependability. BSDE units are so durable, they will even be backed by a 48-hour replacement guarantee for any standard unit which fails.

Explosions are the #1 cause of revenue loss in hazardous environments. They can cause injuries, destroy property, and paralyze critical operations. Until now, no manufacturer has offered off-the-shelf air conditioners that stand up to hazardous conditions and are built standard to cool throughout the entire range of ambient temperatures, up to 131°F (55°C) – not just up to the normal 95°F (35°C) – and then down to 32°F (0°C) without modification or electronic controls (down to -40°F/C as an option). Units meet NEMA 4X and IEC IP56 standards. Cabinets are made of stainless-steel (type 316L). An anti-corrosion epoxy (e-coat) is applied and baked onto all condensers and evaporators. Fins on the condensers and evaporators are spaced wide apart (no more than 10 per inch) to prevent clogging; dirt passes right through. Condensers stay dry because fans do not throw water on them, eliminating any dangerous combination of corrosive gases and particles in the air.

Off-the-shelf configurations include Through-the-Wall (Window), Split and Roof-Mount. All models can be modified to Class I (Groups B, C or D), Class II (Groups E, F or G) and Class III, and Divisions/Zones 1 or 2 locations. BSDE makes all styles in the complete range of capacities and to the same harsh-duty standards.
